Hey, spooky fam! Buckle up, because this mama has a wild story for you, complete with live concerts, semi-honks, and some serious “passenger princess” vibes.
So, this morning we rounded up the whole gang—yep, that includes Eva, our fur baby—and hit the road to Clearwater. After Hurricane Helene blew through, we had to check on our house down there and finish getting everything out. Let me tell you, what should’ve been a 6 ½ hour trip became a 9-hour saga with two littles and a doggy in tow. 😱😱🎤 Cue the mama concerts! I treated the fam (and probably half the highway) to an eclectic mix of hits: from Nelly’s Country Grammar to Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid, and of course, the banger Honky Tonk Badonkadonk by Trace Adkins. Chelsea was in the back trying to harmonize, and Caleb was shaking it in his car seat. 🎶💃🕺
Not gonna lie, road trips just don’t hit the same anymore. But we still managed to get about five truckers to honk their horns, out of about 50 attempts. Not bad, not bad at all. 🙌 Though the real MVP moment was a high-speed chase we witnessed going the opposite direction. Caleb lost his mind at all the “Wee Woos,” but let’s be real—Dada was just as excited. LMAO 🤣
On a more serious note, we are so grateful we weren’t in Clearwater during Hurricane Helene. We were on the good side of the storm in Pensacola, with only a little wind and some oddly great weather. But seeing the damage down there was heartbreaking. Our house got hit, and the devastation in the area was overwhelming. Sending all our love and support to those who were impacted. It’s incredible to see the community rallying around those who need help.
Back to the chaos—Caleb and Chelsea both have big milestone birthdays coming up at the end of the month. Caleb’s turning 5, and Chelsea’s hitting the big 1! 🎉🎉 Navigating two birthdays so close together is already a challenge, and making sure they each have their moment in the spotlight is gonna take some serious mom energy. Wish me luck as I try to figure out how to celebrate both without losing my sanity.
